National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) is a government institution established in 2020 by the presidential order No N° 123/01 of 15/10/2020 published in Official Gazette N° 32 bis of 19/10/2020.

It was established under the Ministry of Education, to be at the center by monitoring the implementation of Norms and Standards through school inspections and also administrate the comprehensive assessments from level one (1) to level (5) in TVET and Basic Education in line with Competence Based Curriculum / Training.

The primary mission of NESA is to ensure quality of education in basic education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from level one (1) to five (5) and to regulate the comprehensive assessments of students and national examinations.

The MIS aids in enhancing learning by allowing teachers to conduct formal and informal assessment procedures during the learning process, thus enabling them to change and tailor their teaching and learning activities to improve student performance.

Depending on your role, you can perform different functions in the system:

  • Teacher: Upload Questions. Download questions, tools, guides. Upload their observations from the formative assessment they undertake, student by student. Create an action plan student by student on how they intend to address observations made and to note progress against these actions

Welcome to TMIS – Teacher Management Information System (TMIS).

 Important

This portal will help you to request for your registration as provided for in the Presidential Order No 064/01 of 16/03/2020 establishing Special Statutes governing Teachers in Nursery, Primary and Secondary education in Rwanda.

You are required to fill properly all the forms, provide true information about yourself and retain the registration number you are given after the completion of your request for registration. After being registered, you have the rights to request for a License.

Registration of Teachers

All teachers should get registered with TMIS. Make sure that to appear on the teacher placement report, every teacher should provide the information about her/his Bank Account.

TMIS Teacher registration Login – Teacher registration has an online portal called Teacher registration login which enables the Teachers to register themselves on the Teacher Management Information System (TMIS) official website. Once registered, through the login of  Teacher Management Information System (TMIS) , Teacher become a part of the online portal.

The following table shows the relationship between Grades and the Standards;

List of students selected to join Form Five in 2021 is now available on the TAMISEMI website. Form five Selection 2021 are always released by TAMISEMI. The role of TAMISEMI is to coordinate and supervise regional development management and administration.  TAMISEMI coordinates rural and urban development management policy and strategies; coordinates Regional Secretariats activities and builds their capacity in institutional development strategies for integrated socioeconomic development and financial development of Local Government Authorities.

Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

This is an achievement test offered to candidates who have completed four years of secondary education.

The Examination Calendar

CSEE is administered at the first week of November every year.

The objectives of CSEE

The objectives of this examination are to assess students’ skills and knowledge achieved in different subjects at secondary school. Also to weigh the extent to which the student can use the skills gained to meet the social, political, economic and technological challenges for the individual and the national development at large; to identify students with the capacity to continue learning to the advanced secondary school level and other learning institutions. The holder of the CSEE qualification is expected to be able to apply skills of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation in a broad range of activities.

Eligibility of Candidates who Seats for the Examination

Any students who have completed four years of secondary education at both government and non-government registered schools and passed form two secondary education examination or Qualifying Test. Also, repeaters of the same examination who registered themselves as private candidates.

Examined Subjects/Courses

The core and compulsory subjects that a candidate is registered to sit for CSEE are: Civics, History, Geography, Kiswahili, English Language, Biology and Basic Mathematics. Candidate may also sit for additional two subjects chosen from natural science subjects which are Physics and Chemistry or Business subjects which are Commerce and Book Keeping; Home economic subjects which are Food and Nutrition and Textile and Dress Making or Technical subjects which are Building Construction, Architectural Draughting, Surveying, Carpentry and Joinery, Brickwork and Masonry, Painting and Sign Writing, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering Science, Radio and Television Servicing, Electrical Draughting, Refrigeration and air conditioning, Plant and Equipment Maintenance, Workshop Technology, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Fitting and Turning, Auto Electric, Mechanical Draughting and Foundry and Blacksmith and one optional subject among the following: Bible Knowledge, Elimu ya Dini ya Kiislamu, Fine Art, Music, Physical Education,French Language, Literature in English, Arabic Language, Agricultural Science, Information and Computer Studies and Additional Mathematics. No candidate for the CSEE shall register for more than ten subjects at one sitting.

  • Once the Honourable Minister of General Education announced at a media about the Grade 9 Results 2021/2022 students will be able to check the results. Last year in 2016 for the first time two sets (Grade 7 and Grade 9) of examinations results were being announced jointly on December 23.

ACCESSING 2021 GRADE 7 AND 9 RESULTS VIA YOUR MOBILE PHONE

You are now aware that the 2021 Grade 7 and Grade 9 Examination results were released on 22nd December 2021 in Lusaka. Here is how you check the results using your mobile phone:1. You open the new message pad on your Mobile Phone
2. Type the full Examination Number (Leave Space)
3. Type the Examination Year (Leave Space)
4. Type the Examination Grade and
5. Send to 8383

The SMS Service is available on all the networks in Zambia- that is MTN, ZAMTEL and AIRTEL. The SMS cost is K4 per successful transmission.

NOTE: Candidates however, are advised to go and collect the original transcripts of results from the SCHOOL OR EXAMINATION CENTRE where they wrote the examinations from, and NOT from the Examinations Council of Zambia or any Ministry of General Education Offices.

  • Click on link number 4 which reads “E-STATEMENTS OF RESULTS” on the lists links, then
  • Click on “CANDIDATE SIGN IN”
  • Select level you want to check results for in the select box e.g. “GRADE 9” or “GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION”
  • Then click on “Continue” button
  • Enter your correct Examination number and click on “Continue” *The results will be displayed showing all the detail of the candidate
  • Click on “PRINT STATEMENT OF RESULTS” *A PDF document will be generated in a new tab with the browser which you can either print if connected to a printer or Save

The Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund announces ten (10) fully funded scholarships for the 2021/2022 academic year. The Fund was established by the Bank of Tanzania on 12th October, 2009 in commemorating the great achievements of the Father of our Nation Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere. It is primarily dedicated for sponsoring top undergraduate female students to pursue Mathematics and Science studies in Tanzanian accredited universities with the aim of promoting academic excellence of the students in respective fields. The Fund also sponsors male and female Tanzanians to pursue undergraduate studies in  the  fields  of  Mathematics,  Science,  Economics,  Information  Technology, Accounting and Finance. In addition, the Fund sponsors both male and female best Tanzanians undergraduate students to undertake Master’s Degree Programmes in the afore-mentioned fields of study.

 

The Scholarships are granted on academic merit and based on a rigorous selection process. Successful applicants are granted full scholarship which covers all university direct cost (tuition fees etc.) and student direct costs (meal, accommodation, book and stationery allowance, field practical training, special faculty requirement etc.) as specified in the respective institutions ‘costs structure including a laptop computer.

 

The scholarships are awarded as follows:

 

Undergraduate Degree Programmes (Seven Scholarships)

The Undergraduate Scholarships are granted to top performers at the level of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE) to pursue Undergraduate degree programmes in two categories:

Category A:    Science and Mathematics Studies (Female Students only) Category B:                   Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Economics,

Accounting and Finance Studies (Male and Female Students)

 

 

The Fund will obtain the list of the 2021 ACSEE top ten (10) students from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and the said Scholarship will be granted to qualified candidates.

 

Master’s Degree Programmes (Three Scholarships)

The Scholarships are open to both female and male best students who are to enrol in Master’s degree programmes in the fields of Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting and Finance.

 

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a Tanzanian
  • Applicant must have obtained First Class or Upper Second Class (honours) in the Bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 4.0 from an accredited university within the United Republic of
  • Applicant must not be more than thirty-five years (35) of age and should have completed Bachelor’s degree in studies related to Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or
  • Applicant must have applied/be admitted to a full time Master’s degree programme in an accredited university within the United Republic of The programme should commence in 2021/2022 academic year in any of the following fields: Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or Finance.

Applicants are required to complete Scholarship Application Forms which can be accessed on the BOT website: www.bot.go.tz.

 

Printed forms can be obtained from the Fund Administrator, Bank of Tanzania Sub Head Office, 2 Mirambo Street, 11884, DAR ES SALAAM. The forms can also be obtained at the Bank of Tanzania Head Office, Dodoma and Branch Offices (Arusha, Zanzibar, Mwanza, Mbeya and Mtwara).

The General Public is hereby informed that the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) in cooperation with the Department of Irrigation and Hydraulics in the Faculty of Engineering – Cairo University are offering scholarships for suitable candidates to apply for a Master’s degree titled “Shared Water Resources Development Program” for the academic year 2021/2022.

Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for admission, the student must fulfill the following conditions:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and should have at least three years of practical experience after graduation.
  2. Have a good command of the English language and working knowledge of computers.
  3. Be physically fit and have a record of good conduct and honorable behaviour.

 

List of required documents

 

  1. A copy of a valid passport.
  2. B.Sc. certificate or its equivalent certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and the Egyptian Embassy.
  3. 6 recent personal passport size photos.
  4. Completed Application Forms (herein attached).
  5. Have an official medical certificate that states that the candidate is free of any infectious disease (HIV, HEPATITIS C and COVID-19) and be tested within 72 hours prior to travel.
  6. English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.
  7. A recommendation letter from Employer or Affiliated University/Institution.

Scholarship coverage

This scholarship will cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition fees;
  • Airfare ticket, go and return;
  • Transportation cost from the airport to the University;
  • Accommodation and monthly allowance of 350 USD; and
  • Resident permit expenses.

EAC Scholarship Programme Two-Year Funded Masters’ Opportunity For Academic Year 2021/2022 (COHORT 3)

CALL FOR APPLICATION

The General Public is hereby informed that the EAC Scholarship programme is now open for suitably qualified and interested nationals from the East African Community to apply for cohort 3 of the KfW – funded Scholarships, to pursue Master’s studies in an EAC Partner State other than their own.

Opening date: 27th August, 2021

Closing date: 17th September, 2021 not later than 17:00hrs East African Time.

Eligible applicants: Young nationals of EAC Partner states (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda)

Duration of the Scholarship: 2 years

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The minimum requirements for qualification into the Programme are:

  1. Be a national of a partner state of the East African Community;
  2. Be below 35 years of age at the time of application;
  3. Possess at least an equivalent of Upper Second-Class Honours or “Distinction” as applicable;
  4. Have obtained admission from a university in another country of the EAC Region other than their
  5. Submit a well written motivation letter in English (with not more than 500 words) elaborating on the following :
    • Demonstrates a convincing motivation for wanting to pursue the Master’s Programme
    • Adequately demonstrates the applicant’s foreseen professional engagement in EAC Integration agenda after completing the Master’s Programme.
    • Demonstrates how they expect to apply the acquired skills and knowledge from the Master’s Programme to contribute to the EAC Integration
    • Personal, professional and academic vision in the next 5 to 10 years

Note: This has to be one typed letter for each programme and converted to PDF.

 

  1. SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

Up to 63 scholarships are available in the 2021/2022 academic year. The scholarship covers the following:

  1. Return economy air ticket between the candidate’s home and host country;
  2. University tuition fees: payable directly to the university against official invoice;
  3. Stipend: EUR 380 per month to support living expenses including housing, food, utilities, local transportation and settlement expenses;
  4. Allowances for study materials and research: EUR 1,500 one-off  allowance;
  5. Medical insurance; and
  6. Extracurricular events: at least one event per

 

  1. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
  1. A letter of motivation for applying for the scholarship (see the structure of the letter in Section 2 (e) above);
  2. A signed curriculum vitae;
  3. Certified copies of all university degree certificates and transcripts;
  4. A copy of the university Application Form and its attachments;
  5. A recent passport photograph in colour of your full head and upper shoulders;
  6. Evidence of Nationality of a Partner State in the East African Community such as copy of National Identity card/ passport/birth certificate; and
  7. Any other form of evidence required in the application form e.g. medical reports, photos and letters of reference.

Note: (i)      Applicants with academic qualifications obtained from foreign institutions must be equated by the National Council/ Commission for                      Higher Education in their respective countries.

(ii)     Applicants with supporting documents in languages other than English are required to submit both the original and copies                                      translated to English a language by an accredited language translation provider.

 

  1. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The application process is two-fold and each must be completed separately.

  1. Application for admission to the university:

Step 1: Identify the programme and University of your choice (see appendix that contains Eligible Programmes);

Step 2: Fill the application form for admission to the university of choice (this can be found on the university website). Ensure you pay the University application fee.

Step 3: Submit the completed university application form and its supporting documents to the university indicating that you intend to apply for the EAC Scholarship Programme.

Notes: (a) Candidates may apply to more than one University.

(b) Candidates may apply for more than one programme; however, each programme should have its own application form and                                    attachments.

The objectives of CSEE

The objectives of this examination are to assess students’ skills and knowledge achieved in different subjects at secondary school. Any students who have completed four years of secondary education at both government and non-government registered schools and passed form two secondary education examination or Qualifying Test. Also, repeaters of the same examination who registered themselves as private candidates.
