A-LEVEL Exam 2020 Results | The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) announced the results for Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE). This year the pass rate rising by 0.74 percent to 98.32 per cent from last year’s 97.58 per cent.

The national examination council of Tanzania (Necta) Executive Secretary Dr Charles Msonde announced the results in Zanzibar, where Kisimiri Secondary school in Arusha topped the top ten list. Registered school candidates were 80,216 and private candidates were 11,086.

How to complete the SUA registration process

After logging in using the email and password provided by the SUASIS system, you will enter the second phase of your online application. The following is what you should do.

• Once you log in, provide your basic information. It includes things like your sex, marital status, date of birth, among others
• You must also upload your photo, academic transcripts, and educational certificates when you continue to register
• Once done, click on Update
• Next, fill in your details, including address, employers, and next of kin

The University of Dar es Salaam (Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) invites applications for admission from qualified candidates into Undergraduate Programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.  In this academic year, the University will offer a total of 102 Undergraduate Degree Programmes.

All requisite information and guidelines to assist in the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. i.e. UNDERGRADUATE tab for those applying for Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor Degrees.

Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE) including index numbers when prompted.

i)    Applicants under Direct Entry Scheme

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), in collaboration with University Institutions, National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and other higher education institutions in the country has established a Central Admission System (CAS) which will be operational starting with the 2010/2011 admissions.

Applicants with direct qualifications i.e. those who have completed A-level secondary education (Form VI), will have to apply through the Central Admission System as advertised by the TCU.

ii)    Applicants under Equivalent Qualifications

Under this scheme applicants will continue lodging their applications with the University of  Dar es Salaam. All University of Dar es Salaam undergraduate degree programmes are advertised in the local media (newspapers) and on the University website.  All applications are submitted by filling the requisite application forms and not in the form of letters.  Applicants are urged to apply after the programmes have been advertised and not before. Before the pull out, between 1968 and 1971, Tanzania sat for foreign Secondary School Examinations conducted jointly by the East African Syndicate, which before then were conducted by the Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate alone. The Examinations conducted by the Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate then were the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate Examinations. The School Certificate Examinations was taken by the African Students for the first time in 1947 and that of the Higher School Certificate in 1960.

SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT (6 Scholarships)  :  MWALIMU JULIUS NYERERE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

The Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund announces Scholarships for the academic year. The Fund was established on 12th October, 2009 in commemorating the great achievements of the Father of our Nation Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere. It is primarily dedicated for sponsoring top undergraduate female students to pursue Mathematics and Science studies in Tanzanian accredited universities with the aim of promoting academic excellence of the students in respective fields. The Fund also sponsors male and female Tanzanians to pursue undergraduate studies in the fields of Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting and Finance. In addition, the Fund sponsors both male and female best Tanzanians undergraduate students to undertake Master’s Degree Programs in the afore-mentioned fields of study.

The Scholarships are granted on academic merit and based on a rigorous selection process. Successful applicants are granted full scholarship which covers all university direct cost (tuition fees etc.) and student direct costs (meal, accommodation, book and stationery allowance, field practical training, special faculty requirement etc.) as specified in the respective institutions ‘costs structure including a laptop computer.

The scholarships are awarded as follows:

1.    Undergraduate Degree Programmes (4 Scholarships)

The Undergraduate Scholarships are granted to top performers at the level of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE) to pursue Undergraduate degree programmes in two categories:

Category A: Science and Mathematics Studies (Female Students only)

Category B: Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Economics, Accounting and Finance Studies (Male and Female Students)

The Fund will obtain the list of the 2020 ACSEE top ten (10) students from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and the said Scholarship will be granted to qualified candidates.

2.     Master’s Degree Programmes (2 Scholarships)

2. Applicant must have obtained First Class or an Upper Second Class (honours) in the Bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 4.0 from an accredited university within the United Republic of
3. Applicant must not be more than thirty-five years of age and should have completed Bachelor’s degree in studies related to Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or
4. Applicant must have applied/be admitted to a full time Master’s degree programme in an accredited university within the United Republic of Tanzania. The programme should commence in 2020/2021 academic year in any of the following fields: Mathematics, Science, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting or

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) is an autonomous government institution. It was established in 1993 under Article 74(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1977. The National Electoral Commission shall consist of the following members:-

1. A Chairman who shall be a Judge of the High Court or the Court of Appeal of Tanzania or a lawyer who qualifies to be an advocate and he/she has been with such qualifications for not less than 15 years.
2. A Vice Chairman who shall be a Judge of the High Court or the Court of Appeal of Tanzania or a lawyer who qualifies to be an advocate and he has been with such qualification for not less than 15 years.
3. A member appointed from amongst the members of the Tanganyika Law Society
4. Four other members who are persons possessing either adequate experience in the conduct or supervision of Parliamentary elections or such other qualifications as the President of the United Republic of Tanzania considers necessary for or pre-requisite to, the effective discharge of the functions of the Commission.

According to Article 74(7) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania and Section 4(4) of the Elections Act, (No. 1 of 1985), the Director of Elections is the Secretary to the Commission and Chief Executive.
